Defenses
Detection
“A tall, floor-standing mirror with a frame of blackened silver carved into the likeness of weeping willow branches. The glass has a slight violet tint.”
Standard Engagement
A living creature that casts a reflection moves within 10 feet of the mirror while looking toward it.
None
The mirror regathers its magical energy and generates a new echo after 1 hour.
The reflection reaches out of the mirror with elongated, shadowy hands. The triggering creature must attempt a DC 21 Reflex save. On a critical success, the target is unaffected. On a success, the target takes 2d8 mental damage as the mirror attempts to shear off their identity. On a failure, the target takes 4d8 mental damage and is Grabbed by the reflection (Escape DC 21); while grabbed, the target is Immobilized. On a critical failure, the target takes 4d8 mental damage, is pulled into the mirror's surface, and becomes Restrained instead of Grabbed.
Creatures that do not cast a reflection, such as those in total darkness or those with specific supernatural qualities (like vampires), do not trigger this hazard.
