The Ossified Thicket
A corrupted patch of woodland where the trees have absorbed the essence of an ancient mass grave, turning their wood to porous bone and their sap to freezing necrotic bile.

Detection
“The trees here have smooth, ivory-white bark and skeletal, hand-like leaves that rattle in the wind. The ground is devoid of undergrowth, covered instead in a fine, ash-like powder and the calcified remains of small animals.”
Standard Engagement
A living creature enters the 30-foot-diameter area of the grove.
The Ossified Thicket takes 2 actions. It uses its first action to Strike one creature within 15 feet with its Gnarled Claw. It uses its second action to release a Charnel Exhalation in a 15-foot cone toward the nearest creature.
The thicket regrows its necrotic nodes over 24 hours unless the soil is treated with holy water or a consecrate spell.
Melee (Reach 15ft) branch Strike +14; Damage 2d8+6 slashing plus 1d6 negative damage. On a critical hit, the target is Grabbed by the skeletal branches (DC 20 Escape).
The trees vent a cloud of bone dust and deathly gas. All creatures in a 15-foot cone must succeed at a DC 21 Fortitude save or take 2d6 negative damage and become Sickened 1 (or Sickened 2 on a critical failure).
Any creature that dies within the thicket is consumed over 1 minute, leaving only bone. The thicket restores 10 HP for every Medium creature it consumes this way.
