Bittergrain Arcane Seal
A protective ward woven into the wood of the cellar door, designed to look like decorative carvings of wheat stalks.

Defenses
Detection
“The cellar door is reinforced with iron bands, but the carvings around the frame shimmer with a dull, sickly amber light when any creature approaches within five feet.”
Standard Engagement
A creature opens the cellar door without possessing the merchant's copper signet ring or speaking the phrase 'The silo is full'.
None
The ward automatically recharges over the course of 1 hour.
When triggered, the seal erupts in a 10-foot burst of necrotic spores. All creatures in the area must attempt a DC 21 Fortitude save. On a failure, they take 4d8 necrotic damage and become Sickened 1. On a success, they take half damage and no other effects. On a critical failure, they take double damage and become Drained 1.
Any non-magical food or drink carried by a creature who fails their save against the seal becomes immediately spoiled and inedible.
