Detection
“The stone is a jagged, translucent violet geode sitting atop a weathered stone plinth. It pulses with a faint, internal light that flickers in time with local sounds.”
Standard Engagement
A creature moves within 15 feet of the crystal or a loud noise (such as a shout or combat) occurs within 30 feet.
None
The crystal resets after 1 hour of quiet as it slowly absorbs ambient vibrations to recharge its internal harmonic pressure.
The crystal erupts in a 15-foot emanation. Each creature in the area takes 4d6+6 sonic damage and must attempt a DC 21 Fortitude save. On a success, the creature takes half damage. On a failure, the creature takes full damage and is deafened for 1 minute. On a critical failure, the creature takes double damage and is deafened for 1 hour.
Dealing sonic damage to the crystal or speaking loudly nearby (such as using a command word) automatically triggers the burst regardless of any Stealth results.
