The Scavenged Iron-Spinner
A sophisticated gnomish kinetic stabilizer that has been crudely integrated into an orcish stronghold's defensive perimeter. It sits in a muddy pit, screaming with the sound of grinding metal.

Detection
“A twelve foot tall pillar of polished brass rings and silver pistons. It stands in stark contrast to the surrounding jagged rock, animal furs, and blood-smeared bone trophies of the orc cave.”
Standard Engagement
Weight-sensitive floor plates (DC 15 to spot) located within 10 feet of the pillar.
On initiative 20, the Spinner releases a burst of steam. On initiative 10, it extends scything blades and spins rapidly.
Automatically resets after 5 minutes of inactivity as its internal springs rewound via geothermic heat.
At initiative 20, the machine vents steam in a 15-foot radius. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw, taking 2d8 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success.
At initiative 10, blades sweep out in a 10-foot radius. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 2d10 slashing damage and is pushed 5 feet away. On a success, they take half damage and are not pushed.
The area within 10 feet of the Spinner is difficult terrain due to leaked lubricant. Any creature that starts its turn there or enters the area must succeed on a DC 12 Dexterity saving throw or fall prone.
When the hazard is below its Broken Threshold (30 HP), its initiative 10 attack deals an extra 1d10 damage to itself as internal components collide.
