Marrow-Chilling Resonance
A localized haunting where the air vibrates at a frequency that shakes the skeletal structure of living creatures. It is born from the collective dying screams of those trapped in a confined space.

Detection
“While inactive, the area looks perfectly normal, though dust on the floor might be arranged in strange, concentric geometric patterns. When active, a shimmering distortion in the air manifests as a translucent ribcage that pulses with violet light.”
Standard Engagement
A creature enters the 15-foot burst area or speaks louder than a whisper.
None
The resonance settles after 1 minute, but re-arms itself fully after 1 hour has passed.
The haunt erupts in a 15-foot burst of bone-shaking sound. All creatures in the area take 4d10 plus 18 sonic damage and must attempt a DC 25 Fortitude save. On a success, the creature takes half damage. On a failure, the creature takes full damage and is Sickened 1. On a critical failure, the creature takes double damage and is also Frightened 2 and Deafened for 1 hour.
Any creature wearing heavy metal armor or carrying a shield takes a -2 circumstance penalty to their Fortitude save as their gear amplifies the resonance.
