Species

Appearance
A weathered old farmer with a back bent by years of planting and a walk that is somehow both slow and startlingly sure, as if he is always listening to something beneath the ground. His hands are thick-knuckled and permanently stained with soil, resin, and old herbal dyes, but his fingernails are neat and carefully trimmed. One sleeve is usually rolled higher than the other to show a lattice of pale vine-like scars that shimmer faintly after rain. He wears himself like an ordinary man until he turns his head, and then the strange stillness in his gaze makes him feel less like a villager and more like a patient hill that has decided to speak.
“Measured and homespun, with the cadence of a man who has spent a lifetime talking to livestock, children, and weather; he often folds warnings into proverbs and ends advice with a dry little chuckle..”

Alignment
Distinguishing Features
A nest of tiny, perfectly woven straw charms tied into his beard
A ring of pale vine scars around his left wrist
A missing front tooth that makes his whistle sound like a birdcall
A permanent smear of green-black sap along the inside of his right thumb
Voice
“Warm, rasping, and faintly amused, like a kettle beginning to sing after a long wait”
Clothing
A patched wool coat over linen work clothes, with a belt of braided reeds, dried herbs, and a rain-dark apron hidden beneath it. His boots are practical, but one has been resewn so many times it looks more root than leather.
Body Language
He stands with one shoulder slightly forward, like a man perpetually bracing against wind, and gestures with small, precise motions that make even simple advice feel ceremonial.
