Kharzun, the Trial Flame
Divine Duelist
Kharzun, the Trial Flame
Species
Outsider
Appearance
Kharzun appears as a tall, ember-skinned outsider whose body seems forged from cracked volcanic glass. Thin seams of orange fire pulse beneath his skin, brightening whenever someone lies or obeys from fear. His movements are sudden and theatrical, alternating between a duelist's precise stillness and the loose, swaying posture of a bonfire in wind. His face is sharp and handsome in a severe way, with a split lower lip that constantly leaks a thread of harmless smoke. Six short horns curve backward from his brow like blackened candle stubs. The contradictory element is his hands: despite his immense supernatural presence, they are delicate, ink stained, and meticulously manicured, as if belonging to a patient scholar rather than a divine rebel.
“His words arrive with the dry crackle of a furnace and the ringing cadence of a courtroom advocate. He emphasizes verbs, pauses before names, and laughs softly whenever someone claims certainty.”

Distinguishing Features
A broken brass halo floats behind his head, constantly rotating and missing one segment.
His shadow sometimes points toward the nearest source of authority rather than following his body.
His left eye contains a tiny moving image of a courtroom consumed by flame.
He bears a scar across his throat where Nhalyss once removed his divine name.
His footprints glow briefly with the words "Ask why."
Voice
“A furnace deep underground given the diction of a brilliant prosecutor, with sudden sparks of warmth when he speaks to the frightened.”
Clothing
A sleeveless coat of layered black leather and scorched crimson silk, fastened with brass clasps shaped like broken crowns. Beneath it he wears a high collared tunic covered in handwritten objections, appeals, and names of dead tyrants. His boots leave faint glowing footprints that fade after a few seconds.
Body Language
Kharzun leans forward when amused, as though inviting someone to strike him. When angered, he becomes perfectly motionless except for the flames under his skin. He frequently taps two fingers against his weapon like a judge calling for silence.
