Artificer, Battle Smith
Tovarik Vezhunar
Species
Goblin
Appearance
Tovarik Vezhunar is a very old goblin with a narrow, bent frame and the restless hands of a much younger creature. His skin has the texture of dried green leather, folded into fine creases around his mouth and eyes. One ear is torn nearly in half, while the other is pierced with seven tiny brass rings that chime when he turns his head. He walks with a silver-headed cane, though the cane is actually a collapsible arcane rifle. His movements are quick in the hands and painfully deliberate in the legs. He leaves behind the scent of hot metal, bitter tea, and rain on stone. The contradictory impression is striking: he looks frail enough to be carried from the room, yet his gaze makes seasoned soldiers stand straighter.
“His voice is gravelly, rapid, and surprisingly musical, with long vowels and clipped endings. He speaks Common with a workshop cadence, as if every sentence is being assembled.”

Distinguishing Features
A brass jaw hinge replaces part of his lower left jaw and clicks softly when he speaks.
His left eye is a cloudy gray orb that occasionally projects tiny diagrams into the air.
His torn ear is stitched with red silk from the first royal banner he repaired.
His fingertips are stained permanently blue by alchemical resin.
A miniature wind-up moth rests on his shoulder and records conversations.
Voice
“A dry, reedy baritone with a faint whistle on sibilants, often punctuated by the click of his jaw hinge and the tiny chime of his ear rings.”
Clothing
A layered royal workshop coat of quilted burgundy cloth, soot-dark leather, and overlapping brass plates. The coat is patched with scraps from old banners and lined with pockets containing springs, chalk, sugared nuts, wire, and tiny folded diagrams. His boots are mismatched because he designed each for a different terrain.
Body Language
He hunches over when listening, but straightens with surprising dignity when discussing someone else's work. His fingers constantly measure distances, tap rhythms, or trace imaginary gear teeth. In anger, he becomes utterly still except for the slow rotation of a brass ring around his thumb.
