Gideon Sefir
Fighter, former military quartermaster
Gideon Sefir
Species
Human
Appearance
Gideon has the compact, weathered look of a man built by ledgers, marching roads, and poorly repaired wagons. His face is broad at the jaw and narrow at the temples, with a pale scar crossing one eyebrow and ending in a hooked white line beside his left eye. His hands are thick-fingered and permanently darkened around the nails by oil, leather dye, and iron dust. He moves with economical precision, never wasting a step, but when surprised he becomes startlingly graceful, pivoting like a dancer before his mind has caught up with his body. His most contradictory feature is his expression: even while threatening someone, he looks faintly apologetic, as if he is already calculating how much the violence will cost everyone involved.
“His speech is low, measured, and practical, with a faint Levantine cadence softened by the clipped rhythm of military orders. He uses short sentences when issuing instructions and long, winding explanations when trying not to discuss his feelings.”

Distinguishing Features
A white scar cuts through his left eyebrow and hooks toward his eye.
His left little finger is missing its upper joint, lost to a snapped wagon chain.
A brass army tally marked 9-R hangs beneath his shirt and clicks against his sternum when he walks.
He smells faintly of cedar shavings, lamp oil, and cardamom.
He has a tiny blue tattoo of a boot sole on the underside of his right wrist.
Voice
“A low, worn baritone that rarely rises above conversational volume. When he gives an order, every word becomes crisp and hard. When speaking to animals or children, his voice turns unexpectedly musical.”
Clothing
A soot-brown quilted coat worn beneath a sleeveless leather apron, reinforced trousers, soft military boots, and a faded green scarf tied twice around his neck. He keeps a brass abacus on his belt and wears one fine silver cufflink with no matching pair.
Body Language
Gideon stands with his feet slightly apart as if the floor might tilt. He rests one hand on a counter edge or chair back, not from weakness but to feel movement through the wood. When listening sincerely, he tilts his head and closes one eye. When lying, he polishes something that is already clean.
