Brinna Gearfizz
Artificer
Brinna Gearfizz
Species
Gnome
Appearance
Gadget is a soot-smudged gnome with a workroom's worth of tiny marks on her skin, as if her hands have been teaching her body the language of metal for years. She moves with quick, precise bursts, then pauses as though listening to invisible gears settle into place. Her left sleeve is always one cuff too short, revealing a forearm wrapped in copper wire and stitched leather, while her right boot has a polished brass heel that clicks louder than the other foot. The most striking thing about her is the contradiction she carries everywhere: her goggles are scratched, dented, and practical, but each lens is edged with delicate filigree like a jeweler made them for a queen.
“Fast, crisp, and vivid, with a habit of describing people and problems as if they were machines in need of maintenance. She calls allies 'mate,' 'spark,' or 'bolt-heart' when fond, and strangers 'sir' or 'miss' only when she is trying to be difficult.”

Distinguishing Features
Copper freckles across the bridge of her nose that glint like rivets in torchlight
One ear pierced with three mismatched rings, two of which are tiny washers
A clockwork thumbnail on her left hand that clicks when she is nervous
A faint burn scar shaped like a crescent wrench along her right jaw
Her scent of oil, hot metal, citrus peel, and rainwater collected in brass
Voice
“Bright, quick, and slightly breathless, with a warm rasp when she has been talking too long over a forge”
Clothing
A layered work coat of brown canvas and oil-dark leather with many hidden pockets, a tool harness crossed over the chest, reinforced gloves with the fingertips cut off, and a half-cape stitched from old banner cloth. The cape is absurdly elegant compared with the rest, lined in faded gold thread she insists was 'salvage, not vanity.'
Body Language
She stands on the balls of her feet like she is always half a step from dodging an explosion. Her hands never fully rest, constantly measuring seams, tapping metal, and adjusting invisible tolerances. When thinking, she tilts her head and squints one eye as though sighting down a crossbow bolt.
