Ilyr Vant
Lesser Deity of Statutes, Silence, and Uncomfortable Truths
Ilyr Vant
Species
Outsider
Appearance
Ilyr Vant appears as a tall, narrow outsider assembled from human proportions, raven feathers, and strips of moving parchment. His skin has the matte texture of old ivory, but faint blue script travels beneath it like veins. He moves with unsettling economy, never quite walking in a straight line, as if each step must pass through an invisible clause before becoming real. His face is severe and handsome, with a mouth that seems almost too soft for his expression. Hundreds of tiny brass staples hold his shoulder-length hair in place. The contradictory impression is that of a fragile, scholarly clerk who radiates the quiet physical danger of a locked vault collapsing.
“Soft, measured, and nearly monotone. He pronounces every word with courtroom precision, but occasionally lets a single sentence become startlingly tender when speaking of the dead.”

Distinguishing Features
A thin black halo appears behind his head whenever someone nearby breaks an oath.
His shadow is shaped like a seated judge holding a broken scale.
A brass staple pierces the tip of his left ear and cannot be removed by mundane means.
His blood becomes dark ink when he is wounded.
His reflection always appears several seconds late.
Voice
“A low, dry voice like paper sliding across stone, with a faint second whisper repeating the final word of important sentences”
Clothing
A long charcoal coat lined with red legal ribbons, a sleeveless ivory robe covered in microscopic script, black gloves, polished brass clasps, and a belt holding sealed scroll tubes. His boots are plain and muddy, an oddly humble detail beneath his otherwise ceremonial attire.
Body Language
Ilyr keeps his hands folded behind his back, tilts his head slightly when someone lies, and turns his entire body toward whoever is speaking even when he refuses to answer. His fingers tap silent punctuation against his wrist when calculating danger.
