Divine Outsider

Species
Outsider
Appearance
Vaelun appears as a tall, slender outsider whose body seems assembled from moonlit water, pale bone, and the blurred edges of remembered faces. Their movements are slow and tidal, yet they can cross a room between one blink and the next. Their skin looks smooth from a distance but resolves into countless tiny ripples when examined closely. A narrow silver crack runs from their left temple to their throat, glowing whenever someone nearby speaks with absolute certainty. Their most unsettling feature is their shadow, which always points toward the nearest place where somebody is lost. Despite their eerie, otherworldly presence, Vaelun carries the soft, familiar scent of warm bread and rain on old stone.
“Vaelun's voice is quiet, musical, and slightly delayed, as though each word is spoken once by the person standing before them and again by someone beneath deep water. Their tone becomes warmer when discussing ordinary mortal comforts and frighteningly flat when condemning certainty used as a weapon.”

Distinguishing Features
A glowing silver crack runs from the left temple to the throat.
Their shadow points toward the nearest lost person rather than following the light.
Reflections of Vaelun sometimes show them wearing different faces.
Small droplets of water orbit their wrists without falling.
Their footprints briefly contain tiny constellations before evaporating.
Voice
“Soft, resonant, and layered with a distant underwater echo. The voice becomes almost ordinary when Vaelun comforts someone, which makes the moments of divine grandeur more unsettling.”
Clothing
A layered robe of midnight fabric hangs from Vaelun's shoulders like wet curtains. Its hems are embroidered with tiny silver roads that rearrange themselves whenever Vaelun changes their mind. Beneath it, they wear a simple gray tunic, patched with mismatched pieces of funeral cloth, wedding cloth, and children's blankets.
Body Language
Vaelun tilts their head as though listening to distant water, keeps their hands folded behind their back, and rarely blinks. When moved by compassion, their posture loses its divine stillness and becomes almost awkwardly human. When angry, their feet stop touching the ground and their shadow begins moving independently.
