Appearance
Briethra is a wiry dwarf woman whose compact frame seems assembled from useful parts: corded forearms, knotted wrists, square shoulders, and quick hands scarred by years of filing, riveting, and hammer work. Her movements are economical and precise, but when surprised she reacts with startling grace, pivoting like a dancer around an invisible workbench. Her face is broad and weathered, with a shaved line through one eyebrow and copper rings in both ears. Her beard is short and carefully braided into three uneven cords, each tipped with a different metal bead. She smells faintly of lamp oil, iron filings, and cinnamon tea. The unexpected contradiction is her smile, which is soft, patient, and almost grandmotherly despite the intimidating tools hanging from her belt.
“Her voice is low, dry, and pleasantly rough, like a file drawn across soft iron. She speaks quickly when discussing craft, slowly when weighing a person's honesty, and uses long pauses as deliberately as other people use threats.”

Distinguishing Features
Copper rings in both ears, each dented from a different past accident
A cleanly shaved line through her left eyebrow
Three uneven beard braids tipped with brass, silver, and black iron beads
A pale scar across her right palm shaped like a crooked lightning bolt
A tiny greenfield flower tattoo hidden inside her left wrist
Voice
“A smoky contralto with a clipped rhythm, softened by unexpected warmth when she speaks to apprentices or exhausted travelers.”
Clothing
A soot-dark leather apron over a faded green wool tunic, reinforced trousers, thick work boots, fingerless gloves, and a patched shoulder cape used to carry bolts of cloth and bundles of tools. Her apron contains more pockets than seems physically possible.
Body Language
She leans toward objects rather than people when concentrating, taps her thumb against her forefinger while calculating, and stands with her feet planted wide as if expecting the floor to move. When angry, she becomes unnaturally still and begins aligning nearby objects into perfect rows.
