Rell Garan
Rogue, Arcane Trickster
Rell Garan
Species
Drakeborn, cat-eared marsh lineage, custom ancestry
Appearance
Rell is an adult drake woman with a slender, athletic frame built for climbing, slipping through crowds, and sudden bursts of speed. Her pale gray skin is covered in fine, velvety scales that become more visible along her shoulders, ribs, wrists, and the sides of her long tail. Messy gray hair falls to her waist in uneven ropes, with a few strands permanently bent from sleeping beside open windows. White and gray pointed cat ears rise through the hair, constantly swiveling toward private conversations. She has no wings and no horns, an unusual absence among her drake kind. Her long catlike tail moves with precise, expressive gestures, often curling around porch rails or tapping out impatient rhythms. Her eyes are narrow and cunning, but her smile is unexpectedly gentle. She moves like a thief even when carrying soup, yet leaves behind the impression of someone who would stop to rescue a bird from a gutter.
“Low, quick, and dryly amused. She speaks with a soft marsh cadence touched by clipped Persian-like vowels and gentle Welsh consonants.”

Distinguishing Features
White and gray pointed cat ears with a torn notch in the left ear.
A long slender tail whose tip has a dark ring like an ink brush.
A tiny brass bell sewn inside the hem of her dress, though she never lets it ring.
A pale scale shaped like a crescent beneath her right eye.
No wings or horns, despite her drake heritage.
Her hands are usually stained with blue sealing wax or silver stage powder.
Voice
“A husky contralto with a faint rasp, like dry reeds brushing against a window. Her laugh is sudden, bright, and much younger than the rest of her voice.”
Clothing
A long smoke-blue cocktail dress made from layered travel silk, cut for movement with hidden slits at the sides and reinforced seams. The hem is weather-stained from porch steps and muddy roads. She wears a cropped cream shawl, soft black boots, fingerless gloves, and a narrow belt disguised as a decorative sash. The dress contains concealed pockets for tools, letters, and throwing knives.
Body Language
Rell rarely stands squarely. She leans against doorframes, coils her tail around furniture, and angles one ear toward whoever is speaking. When lying, she becomes unnaturally still. When telling the truth, her fingers fidget with a thread, coin, or loose button. Her smiles arrive a moment before her eyes agree with them.
