Varrik Embercoin
Fighter
Varrik Embercoin
Species
Tiefling
Appearance
Varrik looks like a man who has survived more bar brawls than formal duels. His horns curl back unevenly, one horn chipped near the base, and his tail flicks with nervous impatience even when he is trying to appear calm. He wears lacquered mercenary armor that has been repaired in at least three different styles, polished at the chest but scuffed everywhere else. His motions are fast and abrupt, with a dancer's spring in his step and a habit of half-turning as if expecting betrayal from behind. The strange contradiction is his immaculate white gloves, which he keeps spotless even when the rest of him is dusted with ash, blood, and road grit.
“Fast, rough, and laced with dry humor. He speaks like a man trying to bluff his way through a bad hand, but the joke usually ends in a promise to stand beside you anyway.”

Distinguishing Features
A chipped left horn wrapped with a narrow strip of silver wire
White gloves that he never removes in public
A burn scar shaped like a crescent along his jaw
Coin-sized dents in his breastplate from near misses
Voice
“A gravelly baritone with a reckless, upbeat edge, like he is always one insult away from a grin or a charge.”
Clothing
A sleeveless crimson undercoat, patched black brigandine, travel-worn boots with reinforced toes, and white mercenary gloves that are too clean for a man of his trade. A chain of clipped mercenary tokens hangs from his belt beside a dented waterskin and a coin pouch.
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders forward and his weight on the balls of his feet, as if every conversation could become a sprint. His tail and hands often move before his mouth does, betraying his thoughts. In battle he overcommits with dramatic lunges, then tries to recover with quick little hops and guarded retreats.
