Kettig Saku
Archivist and Field Custodian
Kettig Saku
Species
Human, Kaariku coastal heritage
Appearance
Kettig Saku is a compact coastal archivist with the weathered look of someone who has spent equal time in salt spray and cellar dust. Their skin is tawny brown, freckled across the nose with pale mineral specks that never quite wash away. Their black hair is cut unevenly at the jaw and usually tied with red catalog thread. One eye is dark hazel, while the other is clouded sea-glass green from an old injury. They move with cautious, economical steps, placing each foot as though the floor might contain a sleeping crab. Their hands are broad, scarred, and permanently ridged with ink stains. The unexpected contradiction is their smile, which is startlingly gentle and almost childlike despite their severe posture, blunt speech, and intimidating collection of knives.
“Low, dry, and carefully paced. Kettig speaks as though every sentence must fit on a catalog label, but their voice becomes warm and unexpectedly musical when discussing tides, small animals, or their sister.”

Distinguishing Features
A clouded sea-glass eye with a thin white scar running into the eyebrow.
Permanent blue-black ink staining along the left thumb and three fingertips.
A red catalog thread tied around the wrist and replaced every morning.
A small notch missing from the right ear.
Smells faintly of vinegar, kelp, and old paper.
Voice
“A restrained contralto with a dry rasp, like a reed pen dragged across rough paper. When startled, Kettig speaks in a much younger voice for a single word before recovering.”
Clothing
A patched navy work coat with waxed seams, a gray wool undershirt, knee-length trousers, rubber-soled boots, and a belt fitted with specimen tags, wax, cord, and three small knives. A red catalog thread is tied around their left wrist.
Body Language
Kettig keeps their elbows close and their chin slightly lowered, as if moving through crowded shelves even in open space. When listening closely, they tilt their clouded eye toward the speaker. Their fingers tap catalog numbers against their thigh when anxious.
