Appearance
Maredh Vezuri moves with the careful economy of a man carrying a bowl filled to the brim, even when sprinting across rooftops. His face is broad at the cheekbones and narrow at the jaw, with a small crescent scar beneath his left eye. His hands are heavily callused, but his fingernails are kept immaculate and painted with tiny blue mineral dots used in his monastery's breathing exercises. He has the weathered look of a river traveler, yet he dislikes open water and becomes visibly tense near docks. His smile is unexpectedly boyish, brightening an otherwise severe expression. He leaves people with the impression that he has already forgiven them for something they have not yet done.
“Low, warm, and carefully paced. He speaks as though each sentence must cross a narrow bridge without spilling anything important.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent scar beneath his left eye.
Blue mineral dots painted across his fingernails.
A left knee that clicks loudly when he kneels.
Three smooth river stones tied to his wrist.
A habit of smiling immediately after being injured.
Voice
“A soft baritone with a faint upland lilt. He lowers his voice around grieving people and raises it only when giving instructions during danger.”
Clothing
Layered slate-blue monastery robes beneath a sleeveless russet traveling coat. His sash is patched with scraps of fabric taken from villages he has helped. A narrow cord around his wrist holds three small river stones.
Body Language
He keeps his shoulders loose and his palms visible, but his feet are almost always angled toward the nearest exit. When listening, he tilts his head as though weighing a distant sound. Anger makes him perfectly still rather than visibly aggressive.
