Sera Vale, the Broken Star
Rogue 13, Acrobat Duelist and Ringmaster
Sera Vale, the Broken Star
Species
Human
Appearance
Sera is a lean, weather-hardened woman with the compact musculature of a lifelong acrobat. Her movements are economical until she enters a room, when every step seems placed like part of a performance. Her hands are callused and scarred, her posture unnaturally perfect, and her face carries the stillness of someone who notices every exit before noticing the guests. One side of her body is marked by old burn scars that climb from her left hip to her ribs in pale, branching streaks resembling a fallen constellation. She wears a polished brass star over her heart, yet refuses to look at actual stars for long. The contradiction is unsettling: Sera appears graceful enough to float, but when angered she becomes frighteningly motionless.
“Her voice is low, clear, and measured, with a performer’s projection that never becomes a shout. She speaks in clipped observations, elegant commands, and occasional vivid circus metaphors.”

Distinguishing Features
Branching burn scars across her left ribs and hip, shaped like a broken constellation.
A brass star medallion worn over her heart, dented from the Night of Falling Lanterns.
A missing tip of her right index finger, replaced by a black lacquered wooden cap.
She can balance a coin on the back of her hand while maintaining unbroken eye contact.
Her shadow occasionally appears to hang from an invisible trapeze a heartbeat after she moves.
Voice
“A low contralto with the clarity of a command shouted across a crowded arena, softened by a dry warmth when she feels safe”
Clothing
A midnight-blue ringmaster's coat cut short for movement, lined in faded crimson silk and fastened with crescent-shaped brass clasps. Beneath it she wears a fitted charcoal shirt, reinforced trousers, soft-soled boots, fingerless gloves, and a red sash containing hidden knife sheaths. Her ceremonial top hat is battered, patched, and decorated with a single white feather taken from Cael's old costume.
Body Language
Sera stands with her weight on the balls of her feet, as if the ground might vanish. She tilts her head when listening, tracks hands rather than faces, and occasionally traces an invisible arc in the air with one finger. When truly furious, she stops moving altogether.
