Appearance
Queen Maerwyn II Ashvale is a narrow, tall woman whose movements are measured like the strokes of a clock. Her skin has the matte texture of cooled charcoal, crossed by faint silver lines that resemble old cracks in fired clay. Her hair falls in heavy white ropes, but each strand is tipped with black as though dipped in soot. One side of her face appears young and severe, while the other bears the fine creases of someone much older. She leaves no footprints in ash, yet wet stone always seems to remember the shape of her steps. Her presence feels less like warmth or menace than the moment before a verdict.
