In the First Age, nine burning stars fell from the Ether. They did not strike the world; they invaded it. These entities, the Astral Sovereigns, engaged the Earth-Titans in a cataclysmic war, eventually butchering them and carving mortal civilizations out of their cooling hearts and petrified marrow.

The world is the hollowed-out skull of the Father Titan, floating in a sea of stars that are the un-descended kin of the Sovereignate. The heavens are a battlefield where light and void constantly skirmish for dominance over the 'Titan-Shell'.

The Sovereignate is organized as a fractured celestial court, currently split between those who wish to nurture the mortal 'Crop' and those who wish to harvest it for a final war against the Void.

Mortals are seen as both the 'Children of the Stars' and the 'Ticks on the Titan'. The gods demand constant warfare and blood-offerings to fuel their cosmic essence, as the power gained from the Titans' death is finite.

The souls of the brave are forged into star-stuff by Ural-Gorth to reinforce the celestial walls. The fearful and weak are consumed by Vespera to sustain the cold dark between worlds.
