Kecho is a small, long-limbed goblin with a face like a chipped green stone and a narrow jaw that seems permanently clenched against cold wind. His skin is ochre-green, roughened by altitude, and crossed by pale scars from rope burns and falling shale. His left ear has been stitched back together with red alpaca thread. He moves with a quiet, spring-loaded precision, rarely placing a foot where it must be placed twice. At first glance he looks wiry and predatory, but his hands are unexpectedly delicate, with carefully trimmed nails and the gentle touch of a midwife. He leaves behind an impression of motion held in reserve, as though the room itself is a slope and he alone knows which way everyone will fall.
