Drakk Varruk-of-the-Quiet-Track
Scout Sergeant
Drakk Varruk-of-the-Quiet-Track
Species
Hobgoblin
Appearance
Sergeant Drakk is a lean, iron-jointed hobgoblin with rust-red skin stretched over hard cheekbones and a long scar dividing his left eyebrow. His movements are economical and unnervingly quiet for someone built like a soldier. He stands perfectly still when listening, then crosses a room in sudden, fluid strides. His armor is scratched, polished, and repaired with strips of gray wolf hide, while a necklace of small vertebrae clicks softly against his breastplate. The contradictory detail is his hands, which are broad, scarred, and permanently stained with charcoal, yet he handles dead wolves and delicate medicinal instruments with the tenderness of a midwife. He leaves an impression of restrained violence held together by meticulous care.
“Clipped, deliberate, and low-volume. Drakk wastes no words, but his descriptions of wolves become unexpectedly poetic.”

Distinguishing Features
A narrow scar through the left eyebrow
A necklace made from small wolf vertebrae and one human knuckle bone
Charcoal-black stains permanently embedded in both palms
One chipped lower tusk capped with a silver ring
A red sergeant's sash faded nearly brown from years of weather
Voice
“A dry baritone with a rasp like a whetstone dragged over iron. He rarely raises it, making his sudden battlefield commands feel startlingly close and immediate.”
Clothing
Dark iron scale armor beneath a weather-stained gray-green cloak, wolf-hide shoulder guards, wrapped forearms, mud-stiffened boots, and a red sergeant's sash faded almost brown
Body Language
Drakk keeps his shoulders squared and his chin slightly lowered, as if permanently braced against rain or arrows. His ears angle toward every sound. When angry, he becomes unnaturally motionless. When genuinely worried, one thumb rubs the edge of his saber's guard.
