Mairi Cered
Cleric, Forge Domain
Mairi Cered
Species
Hill Dwarf
Appearance
Mairi Cered is a short, broad elderly dwarf woman with a balding crown and a carefully maintained grey beard that falls in two square braids beneath her chin. Her scalp is freckled with old burn scars, and her beard smells faintly of lamp oil, juniper smoke, and hot iron. She walks with a carved ash staff, but never leans on it unless someone is watching. Her hands are knotted and scarred, with blackened half-moons beneath the nails. One ear is slightly pointed from an old mining accident, while the other is pierced with seven tiny copper rings. Her movements are slow in public and startlingly quick when she thinks nobody is looking. Despite her intimidating age and severe face, she has an unexpectedly delicate smile that appears whenever she sees a well-made button, hinge, or cooking knife.
“Her voice is low, dry, and steady, with a faint mountain cadence. She speaks carefully, as though every sentence is a tool that must be tested before use.”

A carefully braided grey beard despite being a woman and a balding scalp above it
A copper ring through the cartilage of her left ear shaped like a tiny horseshoe
Burn scars across her scalp and the backs of both hands
A missing lower incisor replaced with a polished piece of pale bone

Clothing
A soot-dark wool robe reinforced with leather panels at the elbows and knees, beneath a copper-threaded priestly mantle fastened by a black iron brooch. Her belt carries keys, chalk, a folding knife, and three small sealed prayer tablets. Her boots are practical mining boots, freshly polished but permanently scarred at the toes.
Body Language
Mairi keeps her shoulders rounded and her eyes lowered when listening, creating the impression of harmless age. When she has reached a decision, she straightens completely, fixes the speaker with one bright eye, and taps her thumb against the head of her staff three times.
