Appearance
Veydrik is a narrow, long-limbed man whose movements are almost noiseless despite the iron rings sewn into his boots. His skin has the gray-brown pallor of old parchment rubbed with soot, and a seam of glossy black scar tissue runs from his left ear to the corner of his mouth. His fingers are stained permanently red at the joints, as though he has been handling fresh berries. He wears his hair cropped close on one side and left in a stiff, uneven ridge on the other. The most unsettling detail is his smile, which is warm, patient, and genuinely comforting even when he is threatening someone. He carries himself like a grieving priest, yet in moments of danger he moves with the quick, birdlike jerks of a starving crow. His clothing is meticulously mended, but the hems are always damp with an inexplicable black moisture.
“His voice is low, intimate, and carefully paced, with the faint rasp of a bell rope pulled across rusted iron. He speaks Common with an old mining-district cadence, clipping the ends of words when irritated and stretching vowels when offering comfort.”

Distinguishing Features
A black scar from his ear to his mouth that flexes when he smiles
Red-stained knuckles that never wash clean
A small iron bell sewn beneath his collarbone, audible only when he is frightened
A left eye that reflects candlelight as a dull crimson ring
A missing front tooth replaced with a tiny carved bone fang
Voice
“A gentle, resonant baritone that sounds like a sermon delivered in an empty chapel. When his composure cracks, a second voice seems to echo half a heartbeat behind his words.”
Clothing
A soot-dark priest's coat reinforced with leather panels, a rust-red sash, polished iron prayer rings, soft black boots, and a half-cloak lined with scraps of funeral cloth taken from former cult leaders
Body Language
He keeps his hands folded over his stomach like a mourner at a graveside. When lying, he touches the scar beside his mouth. When angry, he becomes perfectly still except for one tapping finger against his thumb.
