Appearance
Nessa Veyr is a fox-girl with large russet ears tipped in black and a thick ginger tail that moves like a second, more honest expression. Her copper hair falls in uneven layers around a narrow face, with several strands permanently bleached pale by alchemical smoke. Her blue eyes are bright and watchful, but one eye has a faint silver ring around the iris from an old magical injury. She moves with a low, springing gait, seldom placing her heel fully on the ground. Despite her wiry, hungry-looking frame, she has an unexpectedly regal posture when challenged, lifting her chin as if she were addressing a queen. A narrow metal collar rests against her throat beneath a weather-stained scarf, its surface cold, dark, and etched with tiny gold runes.

She wears a patched ochre tunic, dark green trousers tucked into soft leather boots, a short weatherproof cloak, fingerless gloves, and a belt crowded with herb pouches, chalk, cord, and tiny bone tools. Every garment has been repaired with thread of a different color, making her look like a moving map of old journeys.
Body Language
Her ears constantly track nearby sounds, while her tail betrays emotions she tries to hide. She crouches on furniture instead of sitting normally, keeps one hand near her scarf, and angles her body toward the nearest exit. When relaxed, she braids loose strands of hair around one finger. When angry, she becomes unnaturally still.
