Appearance
Pella is a small, sharp-featured fire-touched dwarf with copper-brown skin dusted by permanent freckles of soot. Her thick auburn hair is braided with scraps of brass wire, and the ends smolder faintly when she is excited. She moves with the quick, uneven rhythm of someone forever dodging sparks, leaning forward as though the world is a forge door she intends to shoulder open. Her hands are callused, scarred, and stained blue-black by rune ink. The unexpected contradiction is her immaculate smile, bright and gentle enough to belong to a court diplomat rather than an apprentice who sleeps beside a furnace.

A soot-dark leather apron over a rust-red work tunic, reinforced trousers, mismatched brass knee guards, fingerless gloves, a tool belt crowded with chalk, wire, chisels, and folded rune plates, plus a blue scarf that belonged to one of the workers killed in the breach experiment
Body Language
Pella leans toward people when they speak, but keeps her scarred left hand hidden behind her back. When lying, she polishes an already-clean piece of metal with her sleeve. When angry, she becomes perfectly still except for the sparks that jump between her fingers.
