Thargin Silvershield
Fighter
Thargin Silvershield
Species
Dwarf
Appearance
Thargin is a compact, broad-shouldered dwarf with the dense, slightly lopsided build of someone who has spent decades leaning over anvils. His hands are square and heavily scarred, with fingertips darkened permanently by coal dust and silver polish. His beard is iron-gray at the chin but still copper-red near the roots, braided into four short cords that knock against his breastplate when he walks. He moves with a careful rolling gait, one boot dragging half an inch because of an old mine injury, yet his hammer arm snaps with startling speed. His face is weathered like worked leather, and a thin white scar cuts through his left eyebrow. The unexpected softness is in his eyes, which are a warm amber and become almost gentle when he handles damaged objects, as though every cracked blade were a wounded animal.
“His voice is low, dry, and rough around the edges, like a file dragged across iron. He speaks Common with clipped precision and peppers his Dwarvish with old mine-worker phrases.”

Distinguishing Features
A white scar through the left eyebrow and a permanent crescent of silver polish under the right thumbnail.
Four copper-red beard braids tipped with tiny washers instead of beads.
A subtle limp in the right leg that disappears whenever someone else is in danger.
A missing upper canine tooth that gives his stern smile a crooked, almost boyish quality.
A brass ear cuff shaped like a tiny closed door, worn in memory of the mine chamber where his brother died.
Voice
“A deep baritone with a rasp from years of smoke and dust. He sounds like he is always speaking over a forge, even in a quiet room.”
Clothing
He wears a soot-brown linen shirt beneath a patched charcoal leather apron, reinforced chain mail under a sleeveless burgundy coat, thick work trousers, and one steel-capped boot paired with one old miner's boot. A strip of faded yellow cloth is tied around his left wrist, the last thing recovered from his brother's work coat.
Body Language
Thargin keeps one thumb hooked through his belt loop and the other hand near his hammer, even while smiling. When listening sincerely, he leans forward until his beard nearly touches the counter. When lying, he polishes an already spotless piece of metal in slow, furious circles.
