Sethris Dorran
Ranger
Sethris Dorran
Species
Hill Dwarf
Appearance
Sethris is a compact elderly dwarf with the broad, slightly stooped posture of a man who spent fifty years hauling nets instead of lifting weights. His beard is braided into three uneven cords, each stiff with salt and threaded with tiny green fishing floats. His hands are huge, scarred, and permanently ridged from rope burn, but his fingers move with the delicate precision of a jeweler when he ties knots. He walks with a rolling sailor's gait on land, yet becomes startlingly graceful aboard a moving deck. His left ear is missing its upper edge, and a pale burn scar circles his throat like a collar. The unexpected softness of his appearance comes from his eyes, which are large, dark, and almost mournful, making his sudden barked commands feel like a betrayal of his face.
“His voice is low, rasping, and surprisingly musical when he tells stories. He speaks in clipped commands during danger, long winding anecdotes over food, and careful half-sentences when discussing guilt.”
