Sarith Blackgavel
Divine Magistrate Avatar
Sarith Blackgavel
Species
Outsider
Appearance
Sarith Blackgavel manifests as a tall, severe woman whose silhouette seems cut from the edge of a storm cloud. Her skin has the texture of cold river stone, though faint red lines pulse beneath it like cracks in cooling metal. Her movements are abrupt and economical, with none of the graceful drifting commonly associated with divine beings. She walks as if every floor were a courtroom and every step were evidence. A heavy black iron gavel hangs from one hand, yet it never swings or clinks against her robes. The unexpected contradiction is her face: beneath the hard brow and scarred jaw is an almost tender expression, especially when she watches frightened children or exhausted laborers. The sight makes her look less like a goddess of punishment and more like someone who has spent too long pretending not to care.
“Her voice is low, dry, and perfectly articulated, like a verdict being read in an empty hall. She never rushes a sentence.”

Distinguishing Features
A black iron gavel fused to her right palm, bearing a hairline crack that glows red.
A throat-ring of iron that tightens whenever she makes a promise.
Her shadow sometimes shows a collapsed courthouse instead of her body.
The names of executed rebels move slowly across the plates of her coat.
She smells faintly of rain on hot metal and extinguished candles.
Voice
“A dry contralto with the resonance of a distant iron bell”
Clothing
A long coat of overlapping black iron plates rests over plain charcoal robes. The plates are etched with names instead of symbols, and many have been scratched nearly blank. Her left sleeve is made from faded red funeral cloth. She wears no crown, only a narrow iron band around her throat.
Body Language
She stands squarely with both feet planted, rarely gestures with more than one hand, and tilts her head slightly whenever someone makes an excuse. When moved by compassion, she becomes visibly uncomfortable and grips her gavel with both hands.
