Varku Meskhi
Paladin, Cinder Vow
Varku Meskhi
Species
Goliath
Appearance
A towering goliath who seems carved from weathered glacier stone, Varku Meskhi stands with his shoulders slightly bowed, as though the Tower of Ashes presses down on him even when he is away from it. His skin is deep slate gray with pale mineral veining across his forearms and throat. He always wears a sealed iron helm shaped like a mourning bell, its narrow visor glowing faintly with reflected emberlight. The helm has no visible hinges and is never removed in public. His movements are unexpectedly quiet for someone so massive, each step placed with the care of a man crossing thin ice. Soot gathers in the seams of his armor, yet small white flowers are stitched inside his cloak where no one is meant to see them. He gives the impression of immense danger held in deliberate restraint, like a door that has learned to breathe.
“Low, careful, and muffled by the Bell Helm. His words arrive with the slow certainty of stones settling into place.”

Distinguishing Features
A sealed bell-shaped helm that he has worn continuously for eleven years.
Pale mineral lines across his skin that glow faintly when he uses divine power.
A missing tip on his right ear, replaced with a small silver ring stamped with a mountain symbol.
A long scar across his left knee that makes him limp only when descending stairs.
The inner lining of his cloak is covered in tiny embroidered names.
Voice
“A deep baritone softened by exhaustion, with a gentle mountain cadence. Through the helm, he sounds like someone speaking from inside a distant chapel bell.”
Clothing
Blackened plate armor over layered charcoal wool, a long gray cloak lined with stitched white flowers, thick ash-stained gloves, and iron-shod boots. His armor is deliberately dull so that torchlight cannot reveal his exact position at the gate.
Body Language
He angles his helm toward whoever is speaking but rarely turns his whole body. His enormous hands remain folded behind his back when calm. When threatened, one thumb slowly traces the sword's guard while his stance widens and becomes almost immovable.
