Appearance

Mirtz is a narrow, long-limbed elf whose body seems assembled from angles, cord, and stubbornness. Their skin has the dry, fine texture of old parchment, marked by pale mineral streaks from years spent crawling through contaminated ruins. Their pointed ears are nicked and stitched with copper wire. They move with a silent, birdlike economy, pausing before every doorway as if listening to the hinges. Their face is severe and watchful, yet their hands are unexpectedly gentle when handling injured animals or fragile objects. The impression they leave is of a starving undertaker who has somehow become the most practical person in the room.

Distinguishing Features

Copper wire stitched through both ear tips.

A white scar across the tongue from biting down on a metal spring during the amphitheater collapse.

Carries a tiny conductor's baton carved from bone, though they deny knowing where it came from.

Their left eye reflects pale green in darkness, while the right eye remains dull brown.

Smells faintly of dust, vinegar, and burnt cedar.

Voice

Dry, low, and unexpectedly musical, with pauses that make ordinary statements sound like warnings

Clothing

Layered rags made from faded stage curtains, feed sacks, and strips of rubberized canvas. A cracked silver instrument case has been cut apart and sewn into shoulder guards. Their belt is braided from electrical wire and old shoelaces.

Body Language

Keeps their shoulders hunched and their head slightly tilted, as if expecting the ceiling to fall. Their fingers constantly test the edges of scraps, and they stand just outside arm's reach unless someone is visibly hurt.
