Runa is a small halfling with a weather-browned face, narrow shoulders, and hands permanently darkened by soot. Her movements are quick but oddly careful, as if every floorboard might collapse. She smiles with one chipped front tooth and keeps her head tilted when listening, giving the impression of a curious child even when she is calculating an escape route. Her skin is mapped with tiny pale scars from glass and shrapnel. The contradictory detail is her immaculate fingernails, each one polished with a different fleck of colored bottle glass despite the rest of her being dressed in rags.

She wears a necklace of bottle-neck rings and carries a hood sewn from old theater curtains.
Body Language
Runa crouches or perches rather than standing squarely. She touches nearby objects while thinking, rolls her shoulders before lying, and keeps one heel lifted as if ready to spring. When angry, she becomes motionless except for the slow turning of a glass fragment between her fingers.
