Sheshet Meskhi
Species

Appearance
A lean woman with a scavenger's careful, birdlike balance, Sheshet moves as if every floor might collapse beneath her. Her hands are narrow and heavily callused, with black grit permanently worked into the creases around her nails. A pale seam of scar tissue runs from her left temple to the corner of her mouth, giving her resting expression a crooked look of amusement. Her clothing hangs in damp, mismatched layers, but she keeps one tiny strip of faded blue silk tied around her wrist like a courtly bracelet. Unexpectedly, she smells faintly of crushed mint rather than smoke, rot, or dust. When frightened, she becomes perfectly still, almost graceful, while her eyes continue measuring every exit.
“Low, breathy, and dry, with soft sibilants that become almost a whisper when she is frightened. She pauses before important nouns as if checking whether they are structurally sound.”

A strip of faded blue silk tied around her left wrist.
Two brass teeth replacing chipped front teeth.
A habit of carrying tiny mint leaves in a stitched pocket.
A three-knock rhythm she unconsciously taps against metal surfaces.
Voice
“A dry contralto with a breathy rasp, soft enough to make listeners lean closer. Her laughter is brief, startled, and usually followed by suspicion.”
Clothing
A torn gray work shirt, a sleeveless coat made from stitched grain sacks, cracked trousers wrapped at the knees with copper wire, and soft scavenged boots with their soles repaired using leather scraps and waxed thread
Body Language
She keeps her shoulders slightly hunched and her weight on the balls of her feet. Her head tilts toward mechanical noises. She rarely points with a finger, instead indicating things with her chin or a small movement of her wrist. In anger, she stops fidgeting entirely.
