Mivana Kheruli

Level 1·Female·Small
Chaotic Neutral

Species

Goblin

Appearance

Mivana is a small goblin woman with a narrow, quick-moving frame and hands permanently darkened by soot, berry dye, and old machine grease. Her ears are uneven, one folded at the tip from an old burn and the other pierced with a copper button. She moves with a crouched, birdlike alertness, stopping so suddenly that loose scraps tied to her clothing continue swaying after she has gone still. Her face is sharp and expressive, but her smile is unexpectedly tender and almost maternal. The contradictory impression she leaves is of something both feral and carefully domestic, like a starving alley creature that still remembers how to set a table.

Height3 feet 5 inches
BuildCompact and wiry, with rope-hard forearms, narrow shoulders, and the slightly underfed proportions of a long-term survivor
EyesAmber-brown with pale green flecks, bright and watchful in low light
HairDusty black, cut unevenly with a shard of glass and tied into three short knots with blue thread
SkinSmoky olive green with pale gray patches across her knuckles and nose

Her voice is quick, dry, and lightly musical, with rounded vowels and a soft regional cadence. She often lowers her volume when saying something important, forcing listeners to lean toward her.”

Distinguishing Features

One ear is folded and scarred from an old chemical burn.

Her left thumbnail is painted turquoise with mineral pigment.

A thin line of white scar tissue runs from her lower lip to her chin.

She wears a copper button engraved with a symbol from the vanished waterworks.

Her shadow sometimes appears to move a heartbeat later than she does, a harmless but unsettling magical aftereffect of the skyfires.

Voice

A low, breathy contralto that becomes unexpectedly warm when she talks to children or damaged machines

Clothing

She wears layered rags made from flour sacks, faded prayer cloth, and strips of rubberized tarp. A child's red scarf is wrapped around her waist as a belt, while bottle caps, wire loops, and tiny ceramic fragments hang from it as emergency tools. Her feet are wrapped in several mismatched layers of cloth and tire rubber.

Body Language

She rarely stands fully upright. Her shoulders remain rounded and ready to spring, while her fingers count invisible objects against her palm. When she trusts someone, she leans close enough to inspect their hands for injuries.
