Thalenna Ashroot
Druid
Thalenna Ashroot
Species
Wood Elf
Appearance
Thalenna looks like a woodland saint who has been dragged through every thorn patch in the Towering Wood. Her movements are quiet and deliberate, but never graceful in the courtly sense. She leans forward as she walks, as if listening to the roots beneath the soil, and her bare feet rarely seem to press down on leaves. Her face is fine-boned and weather-browned, with a narrow scar running from her left temple to the corner of her mouth. Small green leaves grow naturally from the ends of her hair during spring and autumn. The unexpected contradiction is her hands: they are broad, callused, and stained permanently black at the fingertips, like a charcoal worker's, despite her otherwise delicate elven features. She leaves people with the impression of a calm person standing one breath away from becoming a storm.
“Her speech is low, measured, and rich with pauses. She rarely raises her voice.”

Distinguishing Features
A crescent scar from her left temple to the corner of her mouth
Black-stained fingertips that never wash clean
A living sprig of rowan growing through the braid behind her right ear
A tiny brass bell sewn into her cloak that rings only when undead are nearby
Her shadow occasionally shows antlered branches instead of shoulders when she is frightened
Voice
“A husky alto with a soft rasp, like wind passing through dry reeds. When she speaks Druidic, her voice seems to come from several directions at once.”
Clothing
A layered mantle of waxed fern-fiber, patched green-gray trousers, barkcloth wrappings, and a sleeveless leather jerkin beneath a hooded cloak. Her belt holds seed pouches, bone needles, a waterskin, and strips of red cloth marking trees that must not be cut.
Body Language
Thalenna tilts her head as though hearing a distant animal. When relaxed, she rests one hand against the nearest tree. When angry, she becomes completely still, and tiny rootlets begin to push through the soil around her feet.
