Set the Scene

Rain turns Dawnvale's white stairs silver as the party reaches the lower gate of the Citadel. Above them, the five towers burn with sunrise lamps, but the city below has already fallen into uneasy shadow. Cindreth's sealed case rests between the heroes, its metal warm against their hands, while black lanterns appear one by one in the crowd and begin drifting closer.

Stakes

If the ritual fails, the Tribunal gains enough information to create a false sigil and manipulate future divinations. If the heroes succeed, they gain the first reliable account of the Godslayer's return, but the vision also alerts a buried Titan presence that the Aegis is being restored.

Ticking Clock·The Dawn Nexus reaches a rare convergence at the end of the third session. Once the convergence passes, the Titanforged lectern will remain dormant for a year, and the prophecy will be inaccessible.

Background Lore

Long before the rise of mortal kingdoms, the Titans forged the Aegis of Luminar to restrain a being remembered only as the Godslayer. The Aegis was never a weapon meant to destroy its foe. It was a covenant-engine, built from seven divine sigils that could bind, redirect, and imprison power capable of unmaking gods. When the Titans learned that no single bearer could be trusted with such authority, they sundered the Aegis and concealed its fragments across Arcanterra. The Sigils of Stone and Flame are the first pieces recovered by the heroes. Beneath the Citadel of Dawn, Archmage Cindreth has discovered a Titanforged lectern capable of revealing the Aegis's original purpose, but the ritual will draw attention from the Obsidian Tribunal, whose agents believe the prophecy can be twisted into a tool for binding celestial souls.

The heroes are summoned to Dawnvale's Citadel of Dawn with the Sigils of Stone and Flame, two fragments connected to the legendary Aegis of Luminar. Archmage Cindreth believes a hidden Titanforged ritual can reveal why the Aegis was broken and identify the threat called the Godslayer. The Obsidian Tribunal intends to seize the sigils and prevent the prophecy from being recovered.
