The Opening

“For three nights, cargo has vanished from Harbor Market, dockworkers have disappeared, and blue light has shone beneath the boards at low tide. Set the Scene

The characters enter Harbor Market during the late afternoon rush. Fishmongers shout over bell-ringers, spice dust hangs in the air, and merchants are dragging crates away from a widening crack between the planks. Mara Venn waits beside her overturned stall, clutching a broken lock and insisting that the stolen ledger is more dangerous than the missing cargo. Before she can explain further, a scream rises from Spice Row as masked thieves emerge from the crowd.

Stakes

If the characters fail, Captain Serik floods the warehouses of his rivals, seizes control of Harbor Market, and causes the collapse of the waterfront's old flood channels. Hundreds of workers and merchants may lose their homes and livelihoods, while the characters are blamed for the disaster.

Ticking Clock·The next high tide arrives in approximately six hours. Once the harbor bell rings three times, the Blue Vault begins flooding the market in stages. The characters can delay the process, but every major detour costs time and increases the danger of the final encounter.

Harbor Market is a crowded waterfront district built on old pilings, where fishmongers, spice merchants, chandlers, smugglers, and foreign traders compete beneath striped awnings. Beneath the market lies a forgotten tidal cistern called the Blue Vault, once used to store valuables during storms.
