The Opening

Captain Elira Thorne begs for your help: her daughter vanished when the Gilded Marlin was torn from the sky and stranded on the wreck called the Atmosphere. The crew alive in that hull may not survive another night, and rival claimants are already moving in. Reach the wreck, find the missing, and bring them home before the station breaks apart.

Set the Scene

The sky is full of red lightning and drifting wreck-glow when Captain Elira Thorne spreads a cracked star-chart across the table. She points to a dark shape snagged against the halo of the Atmosphere and says her daughter is somewhere inside it, alive if the gods have mercy. Before the storm shifts again, the captain offers your crew a line, a key, and a promise of payment if you bring her child back from the dead ship.

Rumours

  1. 01
The wreck sings at night, but only from the inside.
  2. 02
Someone on the Marlin was paid to change the route before the storm.
  3. 03
The Atmosphere's lower decks still have power, which means something is feeding the systems.
  4. 04
Salvagers who enter the wreck without a tether sometimes return speaking in a different voice.
  5. 05
A child was seen waving from a porthole that should have been sealed for years.
Stakes

If the rescue fails, the missing survivor, the wreck, and possibly the Atmosphere itself are lost to the void, while rival factions gain the cover-up and the salvage rights. If the party succeeds, they earn allies, leverage, and the first clear sign that the wreck was only one piece of a much stranger celestial conspiracy.

Ticking Clock·In three days the Atmosphere will drift beyond the safe tether line, and each night the wreck sheds another section into the void. If the party does not finish before the final storm cycle, the ship will break apart and the survivor will be lost or taken.

Background Lore

For generations, the Astral Shoals have hidden wrecks of skyships, spell-jammers, and half-remembered pirate coffins that drift between moonlight and the outer dark. A recent thunderstorm ripped a notorious smuggler-vessel called the Gilded Marlin out of the upper lanes and smashed it onto the hull of an abandoned sky-reef station known as the Atmosphere, where the wreck now hangs in a crooked halo of leaking air, broken gravity, and luminous barnacles. Anyone who reaches the site can salvage wonders, claim old debts, or vanish into the wreckage before the local factions arrive.

What the World Knows

A storm has stranded the pirate ship Gilded Marlin against the sky-station Atmosphere, and Captain Elira Thorne hires the party to rescue her missing daughter and any surviving crew. Rival salvage crews and a hard-handed imperial inspector are already closing in, so the party must board the wreck, search the ship, and extract the survivors before the station tears loose from its moorings.
